A notice social networks show when an image, video or ad is made or heavily edited with AI.

The person posting can switch it on, or the platform can add it if it detects AI signals in the file. It lets people know what they're looking at.
Hypothetical example: a brand posts an ad with an AI-made model and switches on the label. Viewers know the person doesn't exist and don't feel misled.
Meta has shown the ‘AI info’ label on Facebook, Instagram and Threads since 2024. For ads made or heavily edited with its AI tools, it appears under ‘About this ad’.
YouTube asks creators to disclose realistic videos made or altered with AI, and since May 2026 it can add the label itself when it detects significant use. TikTok also requires realistic AI content to be labelled.
