CPC (cost per click)

What you pay on average each time someone clicks your ad.

CPC (cost per click)

With pay-per-click you only pay when someone clicks the ad, not when they see it. It's total spend divided by clicks.

Example: you spend €100 and get 50 clicks. Your CPC is €2.

On Google Ads, Meta and ChatGPT Ads, the price of a click comes from an auction. You set the most you'd pay and the platform charges based on competition.

A low CPC isn't always good. If those clicks don't buy or sign up, the money is wasted anyway.

Watch out: always compare CPC with your cost per sale. That's the number that tells you whether the ad pays off.
