Google Search Console

Google's free tool that shows how people find you on its search engine: which searches, how often you appear and how many clicks you get.

Google Search Console

To use it you need to verify your site, i.e. prove to Google that it's yours. Then you can see your searches, your pages and the errors Google finds.

Hypothetical example: a hair salon finds that “walk-in hairdresser Seville” brings it 40 clicks a month. It decides to create a page just for that search.

Its main report is the performance report. It shows clicks, impressions (how often your link appears), CTR and average position, and you can filter it by search, page, country or device.

Since 31 August 2026 every site has a generative AI performance report. According to Google, it shows how often your site appears in AI Overviews and AI Mode.

Watch out: it only covers Google. To know what ChatGPT or Gemini say about you, you need other tools or to ask them yourself.
